Stop Letting Registration Hold Up Your Bids

Good contractors lose IRA work every day. Not because they can't build it, but because they don't have a registered apprenticeship program in place when it's time to bid.

The DIY Route Takes 9+ Months

Filing directly with the DoL means working through Appendix A through D paperwork and waiting on state approvals. Nine months if nothing goes wrong. One rejected filing and the clock resets. By then the project has started, the crew is on site, and penalties are stacking at $50 per non-compliant labor hour.

With Apprentix, your program is registered and your apprentices are counting hours within 2 weeks (or 3 days if you choose our expedited service).

One State Registration Doesn't Cover Multi-State Work

Having a “federally” registered apprenticeship doesn’t mean you can work “nationally”. Federally registered simply means the state’s registering agency is staffed by federally paid employees.
Win a project in a new state and your existing apprenticeship program will not transfer. Getting approved on your own can take 6 to 12 months per state, regardless of your track record or your crew's experience.

With Apprentix, your crew can start work in a new state within 30 days. Even if you’ve already begun working, you can continue working while we get you reciprocity.

Non-Compliance Carries Real Financial Risk

Every non-compliant labor hour on an IRA project carries a $50 per hour federal penalty. Willful violations run $500 per hour. On an active crew, those numbers stack fast, and the notice arrives after the damage is already done.

Apprentix allows contractors to register apprentices, track their training hours, monitor wage increases, and keep their program compliant with the DoL.
Our Approach

We Handle the Entire Apprenticeship Registration Process

Apprentix is an end-to-end registered apprenticeship program platform built for non-union construction contractors.
As your Fractional Sponsor, we become the DoL program sponsor on your behalf. Most apprenticeship solutions hand you tools and leave you to figure out compliance on your own.

Apprentix works differently. We sit inside your program as your sponsor, handle all filings, manage every audit, and keep you compliant with DoL requirements. You get full access to our platform to track apprentices, hours, and progress in real time. We handle everything the DoL requires on the back end so your crew is counting hours in weeks, not months.
What's Included

Everything You Need for a Compliant Apprenticeship Program

Apprentix acts as the DoL registered apprenticeship program sponsor so you don't have to become one yourself. You get a fully registered, compliant apprenticeship program without taking on sponsor filings, audit prep, or federal oversight.

Same-Day Apprentice Registration

When a new apprentice joins your crew, they are registered under the Apprentix program and you’ll receive their certificate, all within 1 day. No waiting weeks for DoL approval. No gaps in your apprentice-to-journeyworker ratio. Your compliance clock starts immediately.

Nationwide Reciprocity in 30 Days

Apprentix holds certified National Guidelines Standards that work across 48 states in 7 occupations: Construction Craft Laborer, Heavy Equipment Operator, Electrician, Pipefitter, Surveyor, Wind Turbine Technician, and Carpenter (Form Builder). When you win work in a new state, we handle reciprocity and get you cleared to operate within 30 days. Even if you’ve already begun working, you can continue working while we get you reciprocity.
*Coverage excludes California (no state projects, IRA-only projects ok) and New York.

IRA Compliance Documents

The Apprentix platform generates every required form: Apprenticeship Standards, Registration Certificates, Appendix A through D, Form 671 apprenticeship agreements, Davis-Bacon wage certificates, letters of authorization, confirmation of reciprocity, and apprentice progress reports. The system monitors your apprentice progression across classroom hours, on-the-job training, and monitors wage progressions in real time, so you know your compliance status before auditors do.

FAQ

Wondering How It Works?

Still have questions? Here are some of the most common ones we hear.

How long does apprenticeship program registration take?

Apprentix gets your registered apprenticeship program up and running in 2 weeks. We start cohorts on the 1st business day of each month with 5 companies per cohort. By the end of your cohort, your program will be registered, your training plans will be customized, your team will be fully onboarded, and your apprentices will be registered with certificates in hand.

Need it faster? Our 3-Day Expedite service lets you select your start date and complete everything in a single Orientation call.

Do my workers need to go to school for a registered apprenticeship?

No. Apprentix will review the training you already provide - formally and informally - and will issue you credit to meet the DoL’s standards. There's no traditional schooling, no tuition, and no lost production time. We design the required instructional components around your existing training processes so your workers stay on the job site.

For Electricians, you do need a third-party curriculum and we have affordable, online partners we can refer to you.

What is the difference between IRA compliance and DoL apprenticeship compliance?

These are two separate federal requirements. IRA compliance covers the Inflation Reduction Act tax credit rules, including prevailing wage and labor participation rates. DoL apprenticeship compliance covers your registered apprenticeship program standards, including your training plans, apprentice-to-journeyworker ratio, and apprentice wage schedule.

Falling out of DoL compliance means you're out of IRA compliance.

What happens if I start an IRA project without a registered apprenticeship program?

Non-compliant labor hours on an IRA project carry federal penalties of $50 per hour. Willful violations run $500 per hour. On an active crew, those numbers accumulate fast. If you're already working on an IRA project without a registered program in place, call Apprentix today.

Can one apprenticeship program cover work in multiple states?

Yes. Apprentix holds certified National Guideline Standards issued by the Department of Labor across 48 states in 7 occupations: Construction Craft Laborer, Heavy Equipment Operator, Electrician, Pipefitter, Surveyor, Wind Turbine Technician, and Carpenter (Form Builder). When you win IRA project work in a new state, we get your program cleared to operate there within 30 days.

Even if you’ve already begun working, you can continue working while we get you reciprocity. Coverage excludes California (no state projects, IRA-only ok) and New York.

How much does a registered apprenticeship program cost with Apprentix?

The Fractional Sponsor service starts at $13,000 per year for up to 20 active apprentices and includes the Tech Platform plus full compliance management to handle all DoL compliance (e.g. filings, audits, and reporting) on your behalf.
