Create Apprenticeships from scratch
To start with, you can create apprenticeships within minutes. We have over 55,000 occupations in the platform to select from. Apprentix will automatically generate an on-the-job learning plan for you. If you already have a registered apprenticeship program, you can simply copy and paste the details from your Appendix A into Apprentix.
Register apprenticeships (or not)
If you want to register a new apprenticeship program, simply say “yes” when asked and Apprentix will automatically fill out the forms for you. You can use those forms to submit to any OA state and some SAA states will accept the forms exactly as-is. There are some SAA states that will have their own forms so you can send them the ones generated by Apprentix and ask them to convert that information to their forms. If you don’t want to register your program, you don’t need to. Simply continue with the process to manage your program.
Manage apprenticeships
You can set up an unlimited number of apprenticeship programs and users of all types. Start by adding your first apprentice and you’re on your way to manage time tracking, competency evaluations, wage progressions, and more.
Once you’ve had 4 people, you must have 1 apprentice. That triggers the need for a Registered Apprenticeship Program. You must then meet the labor requirement where 15% of your labor hours are performed by apprentices and you must maintain the apprentice to journeyman ratio for that occupation. Companies typically use certified payroll to report IRA compliance to meet these requirements.
A Registered Apprenticeship Program has its own set of requirements which includes adherence to standards, monthly compliance reporting, passing audits, and record keeping requirements. This set of compliance requirements is unique and separate from the IRA but falling out of compliance on the Registered Apprenticeship Program means you are out of IRA compliance.
